Yesterday we had a Book Production workshop with David Sims. The workshop was kind of an introuction to what we are supposed to do for our final research book. We were told about the use of grids and guides in InDesign. We were also given a demonstration on how to use the french Fold technique to bind the book, which was very simple. The workshop was very helpful as we went throught the whole process of designing the book and putting it together in it. We also had a look at the books made by the student from the last year, to get an idea of what we are expected to do. These are a few photos from the workshop.
This is what I did in the workshop, quickly desgined 3 pages in InDesign, printed them off, and folded them....
Made holes and put the binding bolts to bind the the pages together. this is how simple it was.
